It’s a snowy, blustery day here in Atlantic Canada. We’re in the middle of the worst blizzard that I can recall. Up to 70 cm of snow is predicted to fall over the next 24hrs… just in time for Valentines day!
That being said, I still had two toddlers arrive for the morning before the weather turned for the worse. We settled into our day and broke out the watercolours to create some hearts for Valentines day! I’m super impressed with how they turned out. They would even be fun to glue onto a card to give to parents… hmm… maybe we’ll just have to do that!
Our supply list for this activity consists of very basic items you probably already have on hand. Here it is;
- Construction paper (we used pink)
- Paint brushes and water
Before the children began, I had cut the construction paper into heart shapes. Provided with brushes and water, they set to work to create their masterpieces!
This activity is open-ended and so simple to set up. We did add glitter while the hearts were still wet. Although it didn’t show up very well in the picture.
